ANJELICA HUSTON Los Angeles 1990

Premiere magazine assigned me to a story that was absolutely wonderful and challenging to shoot: In 1985, one of Hollywood's most brilliant acting coaches, Peggy Feury died in a head-on crash caused by one of her narcoleptic episodes. I was to shoot her students in tribute. The list was illustrious: Lily Tomlin, Sean Penn, Eric Stoltz, Jeff Goldblum, Meg Ryan, Michelle Pfeiffer and Anjelica Huston—to name a few. Interestingly, all the actors I shot for this story wanted to have some part of Peggy (who coincidentally was a friend and neighbor) reflected in the photographs—for it was after all about her. Movie stars without egos missing the woman who not only shaped their acting skills but also their very essence. Relaxed, gracious and happy, Anjelica had a new and wonderful boyfriend—sculptor, Robert Graham. They later married.
