ROBERT TOWNE Malibu 1982

Robert Towne had the Hollywood reputation of being the secret ingredient—the un-credited script doctor—to many of the great hits of the 1960s and 70s: Bonnie and Clyde, The Godfather, The Parallax View, Heaven Can Wait to name a few. (He wrote numerous credited scripts and won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Chinatown.) I worked on Personal Best, his first film as writer/director/producer, as “special photographer,” and it was during filming that I caught this loving moment with Towne and his adorable young daughter.
