The next seven photographs are from a series of portraits of American Ballet Theatre dancers that was published in LIFE magazine in 1995, and submitted to World Press in competition for that year. Twenty-one photographers were chosen from more than fifty thousand professional photographers that entered that year. From all the powerful war-torn, drug-sickened, street-crime-infested and wild animal tracking photos that were submitted, these gentle images won 3rd prize for Arts and Entertainment Stories. Along with the twenty other photographers, I collected my gold medal in Amsterdam.
