Final rehearsal for the final performance of Luciano Pavarotti’s operatic career. Unable to stand for his final aria and failing to his high note, Pavarotti stared into the empty  seats of the Met Opera with a level of loss and dejection that bordered on rage. His eyes accidentally looked into my lens, making me an accomplice to his misery.
