As I sat in the dark before the curtain rose, alert, focused, and waiting to shoot my first image, I began to feel vibrations pulsate through my body even before I was aware of the initial sound that had already begun to expand my consciousness into a seemingly cosmic state of preparation. In spite of my own excitement as I waited to shoot (and instead of worrying about f-stops), I found myself caressed by a sound so primordial and possessed of such creative energy that I lost any sense of self . Overwhelmed by the emotional, undulating circular power of Wagner’s music, I wasn’t merely ready to begin a photo session; I was beginning a journey.
